Hey, anime is a thing.

So as someone who doesn't follow series as they air (Hate waiting a week and I like to focus on one show at a time rather than swapping shows as I go) I'm always pretty behind when it comes to the newest shows. Essentially I want to ask: What's any good from the season that just finished?
I've already finished Danmachi and Punchline, am halfway through Oregairu and am going to wait for the Nisekoi BDs before watching. Other than that, is there anything worth a watch?

Plastic Memories was alright.
Fate/Stay night Unlimited Budget Works too, if you're into the Type-Moon's ufotable adaptations.
I would have watched Nisekoi and Kin'iro mosaic, but I don't have time for timesinks like them anymore, having 2 jobs, and I tire of school life anime.
I did enjoy punchline, the fact that was pretty funny, knew that the show itself was ridiculous, and showed it, kind of made me feel nostalgia for KLK.
...
I was disappointed with DanMachi overall, it had strong points, but it feels like the overall premise itself was beaten to death.
It's pretty much the plot of sword art online, minus the video games and making the dungeon exploration into a real-life struggle.
I was also very disappointed with Kyoukai no Rin-ne, because it was pretty much Inuyasha aside from the time travel and demons.
Still despite my complaints about both shows lacking originality, I'd probably still watch the 2nd seasons if they came out.
I just feel like every anime that comes out is shitty lately, because they're uninspired and it seems like every anime that comes out has a moderate amount of fan-service.
Everything's already been done, and the more I watch the less I feel attached.
Then again, I must be too cynical, because there's rarely anything original these days.
P.S. I agree with your vote for Best grill.
Ryu-san was probably the most well-developed personality out of the female cast.
Hestia can fuck herself, though.

I'm probably going to skip UBW. Not because I don't like Fate/Stay Night, kind of the opposite. I've played through the VN multiple times so I don't think I could bring myself to watch a full 26 episodes of it again. That being said I'll probably dip into some episodes with my favourite scenes, just to see them animated. too bad the sex scenes aren't animated

Forgot S2 was airing so I'll definitely check that out. Thanks for the reminder.

That being said, I think I got fucking whiplash from how quickly it went from lighthearted to 2deep4u time travel stuff. Still had fun though, ending was a little bittersweet and not what I expected. Didn't hate it but sometimes I like to actually see the super peaceful happy ending y'know?

While I think the story of Danmachi was a little tired, I enjoyed the setting quite a bit in the sense that it felt a little less outlandish than SAO and it was essentially the singular good arc of SAO with a slightly less shitty protagonist. That being said, I think the production on Danmachi was superb. The soundtrack fit very well and a lot of the animation and "camerawork" (for want of a better word) was well executed. I apreciate an anime that has value added by things like that.

I think that's mostly because the industry is incredibly saturated. I don't think the rate at which good shows are being produced is really changing it's just that while we experience mediocrity in the moment, when we look back on 2015 we'll remember only the good, the tremendously awful and the pointlessly popular anime. Overall that leaves us in a pretty good point. I think we're quite lucky to be experiencing a boom in the industry.

I agree completely. Ryu had proper motivation, a likable personality and didn't fall completely head over heels for Bell for no fucking reason whatsoever. Plus points for being a sexy elf.
I didn't mind Hestia but the amount of fannart she got seriously made her overshadow pretty much every character in every other show in the anime season. Including other Danmachis.

Arslan Senki is pretty good. It's a 2-cour though, so it'll finish next season. Probably the strongest anime this season. UVERworld doing the OP and Eir Aoi doing the ED are definite bonuses.

I took a break last season to catch up with other stuff I was watching But I did watch Danmachi and World trigger(technically 2 seasons old)

JoJo's over, so there's that. Sidonia too.
I would recommend Kekkai Sensen as well, but for some reason they delayed the finale to a few days later, so you might want to start downloading and then wait a little bit.

Yiss, more people liking Punchline. It was the anime that kept me coming back for more. I can't give anything that people have suggest so far in the thread. So far I've finished and will probably watch:
DanMachi- Standard but still enjoyable. Hephy is best girl.
UBW- Started interesting, lost interest as it ended but finished anyway
Next on the list is
Kekkai Sensen- I have to see what the hype is about
Plastic Memories- When I feel like it, I'm midway and kinda doubting it will turn out well.
Sidonia- Relatively highest priority on the list
Triage X- Waiting for BDs
Hibike- Though I have been given recommendations on this, riding the fence on this one but drifting towards not even watching it every day.
Punchline girl ranking- I liked all of them but
lolibot > NotNonon > Smelly NEET > Gyaru/Christmas Cake

Yiss, more people liking Punchline. It was the anime that kept me coming back for more.I liked it, sure, but it was extremely unrewarding. Time Travel used as a plot device to neatly tie everything together with a cute little bow is an extremely unsatisfying watch. The show also denies you of any real ending.

Thanks, definitely need to watch Kekkai Sensen because I've heard good things, and I'll probably watch Plastic Memories at some point too. I don't really want to watch Sidonia at all.

If I'm honest, they were good characters but I didn't really like them enough to rank them. None of them really stood out. If I had to choose: Rabura would be my favourite because she made me laugh the most.
Also sorry, I accidentally gave you a minus rep, not that anyone cares about rep but just in case you do I'm sorry about that.

Messy quotng ahead. On a mobile device and rearranging things on this is a bitch anywho...
Yeah while I enjoyed it there were a few things in Punchline that went unexplained making it feel a bit incomplete. One thing that bugs me is Why were panties of all things a catalyst for Yuta powering up? How come he uberfied upon seeing young Mikatan in panties though he/she thought nothing of them? How come he was the only one who could uberfy twice?
Oh no worries, one of my goals is to get to 9 rep which none of you guys can do right anyway.

But hey, what more can you do in just 12 episodes? I'd still put Punchline as a whole still in my top 3, just not as great as Sidonia season 2 now.
