Just turn it off. I do, and it makes my forum cruising that much more faster. I don't need extra clutter and crap fogging up my screen, especially when the posted content is smaller than the sig size.

Of course I know it's automatically turned off, but when people start whining about sig size after turning it back on, just know that the original function was set to "off". People elected to turn it on and witness the horrors of uncontrolled sig dimensions for themselves - not my problem.
