Hot weather clothes recommendations

I'll be going back to China for a month to visit family. As I will be mostly in the mid-southern part of China, it's going to be absurdly hot all the time. Does anyone have suggestions for clothes that are suitable for that temperature?

I dislike wearing t-shirts and I haven't bought shorts since I was 13.
