How Do Hentai Artists Compare From Non-H Ones?

I always wondered how hentai artists can compete with one another and non-h artists. Since it is a very competitive industry in Japan, how competitive is the hentai over there. How are deadlines to make something different from a non-h artists. Is the income on average more or less than their mainstream counterparts? Who seems to be the most well-off in the hentai world, like as well-known/financially well-off as to someone like Oda?

Since they're private entrepreneurs I doubt they have their bank accounts out in the open. There are also more authors in hentai that remain anonymous under a pseudonym, due to the controversial nature of their work and polarization about it.
I always just assume that there's more money to be made in mainstream work. However, in one of the interviews on the kickstarter, Toshio Maeda mentioned that H artists tend to stick around a lot longer than shounen artists, because shounen evolves so fast.
My 2 cents.
