Eh, I'm personally a one shot kind of guy. Makes translating and ect alot easier since we don't have to work with a prior setting and characters, don't need a translator that actually watched 'show X'

that's fair enough, spose it saves you having to do any research prior to doing the translations lol...

It's more of a personal preference though if you asked me, Comiket usually shows Out of Character works that kind of spoil the series for me, also the quality doesn't seem as high for your average Comiket work compared to your average Kairakuten work.

How do you feel about vanillaphiles that go onto any ntr pieces and go 'THIS IS SHIT, NTR IS BAD, AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD'

Not much there either, tried to get someone to teach and tried to get a guide or two. But to no avail...

I can do some grammar nazi stuff, that's all that I can offer as of my current state of experience.

Do your translators actually know Japanese and English? Like actually know it and got the language down not the "I'm still trying to learn" bullshit that you hear so often.

I do what I want.

Since Tech's gone, I'll do my best answer that for you. I can't speak for all of our group's translators, but I'm aware of the fact that our main one (EDMX) is well versed in both English and Japanese. With that being said, there's a certain level of understanding that a translator is expected to have, and if those standards aren't met, they aren't recruited as TLs.
