IB (I guess...) Film Club

Having a more permanent record is great. So here goes:

A couple threads ago, some guys thought it would be cool to watch movies with a skype conference call going. I am beyond down for this idea, loving movies, people, and not having to drive home drunk.


In chat tonight (Or last night, by the time anybody wakes up to read this), a loose group decided to make this week's screening "Summer Wars."
Apparently, the weekend works best for everyone else (though I am usually gone. Still advocating Thursday or Wednesday nights.). This week is between Friday and Saturday.


Thoughts? Input? Suggestions for the week following?

I'm up for a movie pretty much whenever as long as I know in advance. I don't do much currently.

A Tale of Two Sisters or Devil's Advocate, Bitches.

I gotta get a better set up. [bad family computer with no sound].
but other than that this is a pretty good idea. I usually work weekends though.

Maybe set up more than one meetup for the same movie?

Whether I can participate depends on the time set for this, timezone plays a huge role. If it's at like 11 pm then I'll have to skip on it.

I'm suggesting Full Metal Jacket, 2001: A space odyssey is too boring (for some), The Shining is too messed up and A Clockwork Orange is too fucked up - it's good but yea, you get my point.

Sindalf used to stream movies for us, I need to bitchslap that man and get him to stream some more stuff.

I've had the Summer Wars DVD on my desk for a couple of weeks now and haven't watched it yet. Been meaning to. I bought The Girl Who Leapt Through Time at the same time and watched that, but haven't got round to watching Summer Wars yet.

That was pretty fun.

Movies are too long.

I don't. The only one I haven't seen is space odyssey, and the rest are brilliant. Last night, we were all for this and that Korean suspense flick. So, where's the disconnect?

I'm sitting on "Oldboy" and "The Warriors." If you guys want to start the trilogy instead, "No Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" was cool as hell, too.

"Shonen Mierkensack" is pretty good, if you want to go weird comedy. Japanese record producer decides to bring punk back, scouting a band off youtube. Turns out the video is from 197-. Hilarity ensues.
