If only more people thought like this...

Inspiring tale of how a man thinks of equality as not tied to race or gender, but as America and their people. He even tips 450 bucks to show the faith in his belief.
This needs more publicity.
This needs more recognition.
This needs nationwide coverage!

Though, the issues do affect us too, so having a president that only works on his own specified agenda and is stubborn as a mule may backfire for a lot of people. However, I will admit that not all Trump supporters are bad. Actually, most of them are probably pretty decent people. The reason they get so much hate is by supporting a divisive person like Donald Trump. It's not unrealistic.
But, that article itself is nothing short of awe-inspiring. That man is truly either a genius or a genuine, kind-hearted saint. Either way, it was a very nice gesture, and I hope it pays off in the long run.

I'm not even upset you troll, fine, it's ib, have fun. But this... isn't the best you can do.
I was on Usenet for the guy that would troll people in character as General Fucking Zod. People who he trolled saved his replies, because he fucking sold it.
You? You pull out 'gay' and 'Jew' and only show that the only thing keeping you at dumpster and cockroach level is not doing the work.
You are capable of better. I'm not even saying don't rain on the parade. Fine, be Mr. Negative.
But this? Wasn't even spitting rain. Didn't even count as a shower.
You. Can. Do. Better. And it pisses me off you don't.

She actually looks like the average tranny ad in backpages.
Only that the ones in Flori-Duh Backpages actually look 50% more decent.
Everything else is ok with me tho.

When I try harder, people start to think I actually believe what I'm saying.
I have trolled with clever ruses on these forums before, but it rarely works out as I intended.
Nowadays I mostly stick to obvious trolling so no one is confused or thinks my intentions are ambiguous.
...
I can dig up those threads if you like, there are entire conversations that span pages and pages.

People do stuff like this to draw attention to themselves so they can make people think they're being awesome.
In reality, this person treated someone differently for what they were and believed in, and it is the opposite of what people should desire.
Why an act like this deserved attention is disgusting to begin with. The fact that people think we need more acts like this is disgusting.
He should have treated and tipped her the same he would any other waitress, regardless of her background, race, or beliefs.
This type of act just shows people do not see each other as equals.

You are absolutely correct.
However, can this not be taken as a step in the right direction, considering how batshit insane people in many parts of America have been lately?
Why does it deserve attention?
It doesn't, necessarily.
However, if you don't bring attention toward positive things, no matter how small, and only shed light on negative events, what is America going to do to improve its society?
...
I don't know why I'm even having this conversation, personally, I'd accept it if we all ended up nuked by the Russians tomorrow, and nuked them and all the other countries in the process.
That's how small my faith in humanity's growth potential is as of late.
Also, what you're saying is essentially admitting that humans are basically all trash, and this one is no exception.
I already went down that road, but will you?
If you have or are now, then...
Well, hopefully it's at least more fun for you than it was for me.

You don't seem to understand.
This isn't a positive example.
This is a negative example that people treat positively.
The only reason the guy tipped her that amount was because of her differences.
She wasn't struggling.
She wasn't an extremely awesome waitress.
Any of those things.
No, he tipped her because she was different.
And it was done to show "Hey, I'm better than you."
A true act of acceptance.
Would be for him to tip her exactly the same as anyone else that did the same task.

Both of you, well said. And I think it reveals a deeper fact— which goes back to what I got on æ£ç¾©'s case about, and helps me frame what I was trying to tell him a bit better...
No matter what you do, everyone has to infer your motives from the outside, with their own beliefs as a filter. It's why even classic satiric pieces are seen as serious by some today.
One of us sees a rather patronizing gesture of superiority. Another sees a man trying to do a bit of good with what hard work/ fate/ whatever got him. Imsee a man who is likely trying to do good both as a way to feel good and actually help- our motivations can be complex after all- but not realizing the grandiosity of his gesture made it more likely to get a polarized reaction if reported. Then again, if he tipped $50 dollars and was reported on, we may well find ourselves having this discussion anyway!
æ£ç¾©, I understand where you're coming from. But to carry the point... your current trolling level still had me occasionally going, 'is this what he really thinks?' That is the risk you take when you say or do anything- we all bring our own beliefs to the table, and filter the world through that. Whether you write the next A Modest Proposal, or chime in with a couple of slurs in jest, someone's going to read something unintended into it. And if on explaintion, someone insists you meant something you didn't... well, no one of us controls the universe. You have to accept that as a risk of writing anything.
As I accept the risk you might feel hurt or angry at my advice. As the tipper risked us seeing motives that may or may not be there.

Guys, how much time did you spend furiously typing your opinions? Change something about yourselves this new 2017.
