One of the ways to deal with bullying is to ignore the bully. Similarly, one of the ways to fight racism is to ignore racist people. Reacting to racial profanity is a great way to let stupid people know it bothers you and get them to say it more. If no one reacted, the word would have no meaning.

I dont understand why people react to racist terms. All they are doing is showing that its something that bothers them. By doing so they are perpetuating racism. If those people wanted to help end it, simply ignoring racist terms would be a start.
