Got a slave labour blogging gig and everything.

Geekmundo.net has hired me on to fill in a pending anime section....which is a bit of a problem.

See, for those that don't remember, I'm one of those casuals that pays just enough attention to keep showing up. Been watching anime from the beginning of the beginning, just like everyone else, but I've never gotten too deep into it. (or, too deep into anything, for that matter... I'm one of those people whose hobby is collecting hobbies)

So, with a disconcerting amount of vague-ness, I was wondering if you guys could help me research. I don't know any first/second hand sources. Coco-tan turned me onto moetron.com, but that's as far as my anime-news-connections go.

(I'm not sure if I would have taken the gig, if I knew I would be starting from scratch like this... Time will tell, whether it works out or not.)

So will you just be contributing by talking about anime in general?

So you need news and stuff right? Try myanimelist.net and animenewsnetwork.com.

I have an idea, where I watch the fundamentals, some classics, groundbreaking pieces, and a few other older shows---do reviews on them--- and take readers on the decent into madne---I mean fandom.

Other than that, they want news, reviews, and op-eds. Standard fare, really.
I'll probably try to wrangle a couple press passes, an editorial budget, and everything I can. The admin is pretty psyched about me signing on; so if I can keep things going, who knows where this will go.

In the least, it's a piece for the portfolio.

Bad attitude if you're column is gonna be general interest. It displays bias.

Ammy, back in my day, memes stayed in school where they belonged. We insulted others with such things like "sarcasm" and "wit."

And, opinion columns are opinion. I can emphasize with people who watch this stuff, but never really got into it.

It's a blog, not a newscast. Half the point depends on it being biased.
