Im seriously fucked right now. Like 10 years ago i baught from the store fable game for pc. Store baught so it supported the game creaters. I had hardly touched the game in years. On april first i went and it in some boxes i had. So i tried to upload it to my computer. It wouldnt read it. So i went to thepiratebay and downloaded it. And instead of using the crack i used my keygen i got from by game. I mean i just wanted to play the game i baught. So turns out i got a letter in the mail from mu internet provider. Saying they have receaved some illegal activity. From washington dc saying i may have to spend 2 years in jail and possibly 5000 dollars. This is so bull shit. Im freaking out. Ya i know this is ib. But i figured i might get some advise from you guys.

Only real illegal activity I've done online is watch streamed movies and download ROMs of emulated games I've owned in the past/still own. Instead of threatening me with jail, my ISP blocked it. Though I'm pretty sure it wasn't just me judging by the Block notice.
If I recall, our legislation recently eased up on slapping jailtimes on its users and instead just blocks websites, going down the Prevention is better than unnecessary stress and expensive lengthy legal processes for a minor copyright offence route. Now it seems to reserve legal action for people who download CP, if the News is anything to go by.
But I digress. Sux2bu. Don't drop the soap and if The Raid 2's taught me anything, be sure to make friends!

you're not in hot waters yet so calm down...
one, get a good lawyer
two, make sure you have your original game and all it's packages
three, your alibi or reasoning should be "I bought it already but it didn't work, I tried downloading the content but still use the key of my original game. if anything it was the manufacturer's fault." sure it maybe foolhardy but it's worth a try.
some may even sue for extortion...

I could when they block it here. Magnets and offsite torrent host or something.

Just tried it again with a different Proxy and I can open Torrent links now, so that's progress at least. Last time I couldn't even do that. But it never gets past "Connecting to [whatever]". The trackers are from Piratebay, so I'm guessing connections are blocked or the trackers are down.
Can download a larger file elsewhere almost right away.

This is ridiculous, almost as ridiculous as being in custody for watching porn.

Just get a lawyer. They can get around this shit like they're in orbit.
You're not going to jail for pirating a 10 year-old game. Lot of times in cases like this, the feds just let it slide because even they find the punishment ridiculous for such an offense.

you are the worst pirate ever
did you not think that a product key would be linked to a purchase and that trying to use it anywhere else would be trouble?
you deserve whatever happens to you, whether you get fined or go to jail or get out of this

Serious post here.
If I managed to read that right, you downloaded a game that you already own because your copy would not work. You then received a letter about piracy and to get ready to become the new prison bitch.
If anything happens just show them the damn game and tell them your copy wouldn't work. Panicking doesn't solve anything.
PS: Fable 1 (and TLC) is an outstanding game. You should feel bad for not having played it the moment you got it. Better late than never though.
