I'm so fucking sad

"A little too much for a slime girl, don't you think?"

I look behind me. He stands by the riverside. I felt my ukulele pulse as I met his empty eyes. He was wearing a black suit. The wind suddenly stopped. An ominous aura. I think this guy may not be human.

"And you are?" I replied.

"Oh, I expected that you'll recognize me by now." He said, drawing a ukulele of his own. It was black. My ukulele pulsed even stronger.

"Strum art: C chord." He said, with a grin on his face.

A split second later and I knew why.

"UGGH!"

I was caught off guard. Suddenly he was in close range with me. The wind blew again as he attacked with a black zweihander. He swung it one-handed, like nobody's business. I barely blocked it with my ukulele.

"Well?" He said, smirking, our weapons still in contact.

"I-It cant be.. Grenouille?! But you're dead!" I replied, heavy in my breath. I shove off his zweihander. We were in mid-range again.

"Ah, I knew this will strike up a memory." He said, raising his weapon in front of him. He's eyeing it as he talked.

"But how?!" I retorted. My breathing is off.

"Less talking, more fighting." He replied. He was on a familiar stance. His sword raised in front of him, his other arm supporting his sword arm.

"Two can play at that game." I declared.

"Strum art: C chord!!"

I felt my ukulele vibrate as it extended to a silver zweihander. It's runic writings glowed as I assumed the same stance as Grenouille's.

"Ready when you are, bard." Grenouille declared.

Our auras clashed.

I take one final breath.

"BANKAI!!"
"BANKAI!!"

Our already powerful auras increased in strength tenfold. It expanded, raising blocks of earth in it's wake. This was our arena.

"HAAAAAAAAAAH!" I slashed the air in front of me three times. Three silver arcs shot straight to Grenouille.

"Eh. Too weak." Grenuoille said, deflecting all three of them with one horizontal swing.

"My turn."

I saw nothing but a streak of black. I felt my flesh tear as his zweihander met my chest. The attack sent me flying ten feet back, to a block of raised earth.

"Don't underestimate me!!-" I shouted as I flip mid-air, gaining footing on the raised earth behind me.

"HAH!"

A streak of silver light.

"Eh."

A streak of black.

Our swords meet with a deafening crash. I felt our auras expand even more.

"Sword art: Omnislash!"

We said in unison. Multiple streaks of silver and black filled the battle zone. Sounds of steel-on-steel rang as our weapons met. Every contact sent both of us five feet back. Random blocks of earth crumbled as we use them as footing, charging at the other again.

"This is getting boring." Said Grenouille, effortless.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!" I screamed as I charged to our fiftieth contact. But this time it's different. He was standing still. I go for the opening.

"You haven't changed one bit, Giitaaaa."

He blocked my zweihander with his forearm.

I hopped back. I ready my weapon.

"Strum art: G chord!" I shout.

In a split second timeframe, my zweihander burst into a ten-ton mallet. I held my weapon as if I'm a batter waiting for the pitch. Ancient writings glowed as I ready my final attack. At this point, I go all or nothing.

"That again? Strum art: G chord." Grenouille said.

Grenouille's weapon changed to a black mallet. He swung it in front of him, using it as leverage as he jumped.


A 200 degree arc.


I go for it.


"MALLET ART: G IMPACT!"


A flash of silver and black. Our weapons meet. The ground around us shatters completely.
