Immediate hentai/doujin sex scenes or have some story first

I've thought about this for a while and have been wondering what the community thinks about doujin/hentai that immediately start with sex or that have some pages of story before the sex.

I personally like to have at least a page of real story for context, but I want to see what you guys think.

Less story? Easier time for artist? More story? Makes the sex part better with context? Is story required?


(This is ignoring the cover page and any filler blank pages before the story/sex scenes)

Story is usually hentai's one strength over most other forms of porn, making it much more enjoyable.

Depends of the artist and theme.

i generally go through a few doujinshi's if i'm y'know, fapping, since they don't tend to be too long. i don't want to be simply flipping through sexual scene after sexual scene, i want some context as to what is going on! if a single page can set enough up then wonderful, but i don't mind when one has a pretty lengthy start so long as the material is lengthy too.

For a 20-22 page manga/doujinshi, 6-8 pages of set up is fine for me. I prefer having a lot of sex scenes and positions for variety. I don't want 14 pages of build-up/ecchi and then have 4 pages of wham bam thank you ma'am. I will say that I do appreciate a good conclusion page though.

For your average one-shot manga/doujin I like a few pages to set up the story, for those full color 4 page doujins, no story is fine. As for videos, I don't mind at all if it just starts off with sex scenes, and only have sex scenes.

On the other hand when playing eroge, reading through hours of text to finally have 1 sex scene is fine by me.

A storyline in hentai is the only boundary between it and regular porn. I enjoy watching things that get me involved, something that I can think about. If it just skips all the way to a sex scene, sure there's that but there isn't anything else to grasp my attention.

I thought there was much more disagreement because in the comments sections of uploaded hentai for fakku saying that there's always too much story before the sex scenes.

Well, comments and forum can also attract slightly different crowds. People who read it just for the sex leave just a quick comment, people who prefer a story also come to the forums to discuss things. Just a theory. :D
