I picked up a few crime-related shows (dexter is the one I'm currently watching) because netflix will go down for me in a few days. It's actually pretty interesting, watched 5 episodes so far, hopefully I can finish season one before sunday.
I mostly don't watch anything but animu and read manga, so this is a nice change of pace.

Dexter's pretty good, seen up to season 4 already. Have you watched breaking bad? 10/10 you would like it.

I still haven't read the last book to see if the ending is good, but most of the characters are different in the book then tv. Sgt. Doakes is alive but a mute stumpy.

Wow, that's... pretty tragic, and actually most unexpected.
But, that's what I like about this - I never know what's going to happen, it just makes me want to watch more ^_^.
