Internet Porn vs. Grocery Shopping

No, the title isn't a joke.

Seriously, though, downloading porn from the internet and going grocery shopping have 1 thing in common:

You should never do them when you need what you're looking for.

If you need to fap/schlick, you'll end up downloading WAY more porn than you need.

And if you go grocery shopping when you need food (IE - you're hungry) you'll buy way more than you need.

Why the fuck would anyone download porn when we have porn streaming websites?

As for foodshopping, I only get the bare necessities, like bread, milk, meat, vegetables, squash etc. as well as a few treats for myself like chocolate or a bag of crisps.

2 reasons:

1. I like my media (audio, image, video) to actually be recognizable. Not in 240p.

2. Because the buffering from those sites takes goddamn forever. And I rarely have long. Torrenting hentai? I can do that in the background and never even have to open the window.

Don't have time to watch all that porn nor waste to download it.

Theres only so much food I need and can eat by myself. Buying excessive amounts would go to waste because food can spoil. Plus food costs money.

Downloading porn? I can understand pictures but videos just take up too much space, And you're begging for a virus.

I never go shopping when I am hungry.

How do you get your food then?

1) Quality of streamed porn isn't that bad. If you can't see 240p then you need your eyes checked. Also by downloading you're inviting yourself up to viruses; managed to kill my old computer that way.

2) I've never had a problem with buffering. If you're experiencing problems your ISP is shit or you're using too much bandwidth on other things.

But I guess each to their own.

I only download when I can't stream or view it anywhere else.

Look, scientific studies were done: if you go grocery shopping when you're hungry, you WILL buy more food than you would if you were not hungry. It's a subconscious thing.

Why stream when I have 6 TB of storage to use?

1. Hence, sites like nyaa for trusted torrents. Thousands of seeders can't go wrong. Plus, a lot of those streaming sites use weird video players that buffer weird here, or doesn't let me fast forward without crashing. Not to mention, torrenting can be done discretely while streaming leaves a tab on your browser that anyone could see.

2. 3rd world countries, Mikey-poo. Ever thought of them? Whereas 1Mbps is a standard for most Western countries, I'm here struggling to download at even 100kbps, and that's the peak. If my shit is gonna go slow, I might as well download the full thing in advance and watch later when I do have time.

And to answer your original question of why download rather than stream, space isn't that expensive, and it makes local sharing of the love easier. (^:
