Basically he's saying that you can spoil spoilers by putting a Spoiler inside of a Spoil box, but I think he misunderstood. Can't blame him, you did word that oddly
But yeah apparently we have two variants of spoilers now.
Spoil box we're all used to:
[spoil][/spoil]
Black bar:
[spoiler][/spoiler]

Since it does this every time they make changes to the site, I'm gonna assume they code it in HTML primarily, and the BBcode is something to make it more user-friendly?
Why the fuck are there so many different kinds of code, anyway?

The different languages all specialize in different elements, though there is similarities. And some languages are stupidly complicated while others aren't. And there's compatibly bla bla.
That's the gist of it.
And as Cat said BBcode is a dumb down version of HTML. I don't hate it - makes things easier for peeps with no HTML knowledge.

Here's your explanation.
BBCode is a lightweight markup language for forums, which were more commonly referred to Bulletin Boards around the time of its inception; hence its full name, Bulletin Board Code.
Post data is submitted through a form (the "post creation page" in simple terms) specifying an action which is related to a PHP script on the server. That PHP script, among other things, enumerates over the BBCode and programmatically converts it to HTML, then adding the processed post to the server's database.

Once you find out how programs are developed and designed, you will look at computers in a different light and with much greater understanding.
They also offer free classes on many other subjects. Enjoy.
