It's a good way to slap choice idiots on the hand, but there are too many people who WANT to be victims, and continuously bitch about their brush with negative rep.

Personally I'm looking forward to lol12's next rep thread and the inevitable shitstorm that follows.

Yeah, a while back I had thought of a way to balance that out. It probably has some flaws in the idea but any way here it is:

Simply make it harder to get rep. This is what I had thought of to do that. Make each time a person is repped count as some arbitrary fraction of a whole rep point(1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, etc., etc.), rounding up or down for the nearest whole number. Thus it would slow down the rep whores considerably and also reduce some of the drama with negative rep as it would have a dampened effect.

If anybody thinks it's stupid I won't feel bad it's just a random thought I had a while back.

Essentially I thought reps were to encourage uploaders for their hard efforts? A thanks system would be fine; or badges for favorite uploaders.

Rep barely comes back and I'm already expressing themselves.
