People would be more willing to respect authority if you did, though. And they cannot stop doing the wrong thing if they do not know what the wrong thing that they are doing wrong is.
You're right, and as such I requested she change it before I banned her. I'm not banning her for violating the rules, nor is it for her avatar, it's for ignoring me when I asked her to do something. So you're correct, had I simply banned her without requesting she change something I would be completely in the wrong.

Since I'm not missing any crucial piece of information, we'll leave at it, "We have different opinions about your behavior". There's absolutely nothing to indicate my assertion is wrong though.Well, I can tell you you're using the wrong word, that indicates your assertion is wrong. I'm not being "petty" at best it's stubborn but petty does not fit here. English major, remember.

I have lifted the bans in question.
After looking at everything that happened it appears this was a misunderstanding, but something that could have been avoided. Kiraneko was asked to change his avatar by Waar, but was not given a reason why. After refusing a short ban was given, the reason being that the avatar could possibly cause seizures. This was not told to the original user or any of the users who changed their avatar to the same one.
I stand by the original request to change the avatar, but going forward no bans will be given without adequate reason and warning. The community should be fully aware of why a decision has been made.
