It started out shitty then turned out pretty good, my brothers made some progress for the first time in like 5 years to repair their relationship.

Yup, started shitty cuz the one pretty much instantly said "fuck off" as the first thing to the other one and expected to just spend the next 5 hours or so without it ever getting talked about. So, that sorta tells how things were between them initially.
