All I know about Jace is that he's such a sweet piece of ass.
Anyway, i think it's time to get a new antivirus with better benefits.

Spoiler:
I assumed avast free was of limited use. But as it turns out the only other major difference aside having only 1 year of license, is the SafeZone option, which i used maybe twice. On the other hand it's pretty cool imagining my cyberbrained grand kids ask me why the fuck am i still using avast in 2050.

Avast! is not a good AV solution, neither for real-time protection or actual removal. According to the VB100; Avast! has a success rate around 77.2%, and failed to earn the VB100 cert this year for wildlist misses.
Compare that to AVG, Bitdefender or Avira which have 91.3%, 93.8% and 94.6% success rates respectively, and you can see just how silly it is to use the overweight piece of shit that Avast! has become over the years.
Bitdefender is my personal recommendation for most users, being unobtrusive and requiring little to no configuration.
If you want good real-time protection, consider the alternatives; if you only want virus removal, Malware Bytes is the way to go.
