Mahou's Haven

Yep, I found her abandoned. She had owners, but they never really took care of her, just sometimes brought her in to feed and groom her. Most of the time she was left out, day or night, no matter the weather. She was going feral and was quite timid, but would sometimes come up to people, clearly asking if they'd let her inside.

I had lost a cat not long before that, so my room mate picked her up and we took her home. I was worried the owners would get mad, but as it turns out, my kitty had come to them as a stray after her original owner had left her behind. They'd only been taking care of her because they didn't know what else to do, and were very happy she had a real home with us.

After I moved into my own place, she came with me. She's the princess of my house, and has no other rival cats around here. Makes me happy I could make a difference for her.

I've wanted to join in when neo is inviting you but, you know. I'm too shy for those things x.x

Yeah I know, I won't be telling you off to get one since I've been like that too in the start xD

That’s a very sweet story, I wish I could have cats in my house but my brother still lives with us and he’s horribly allergic to cats. Doggies are nice though, but our dog is very rude and mean to me.

Lime, he'd be glad to have more people listening. He's always looking for more. They are like backyard get to gathers. There's music, but the whole thing is quite casual. ^^

Just tell him you'll be coming and that you want the link the next time he announces one. I don't have skype, so I miss part of the convos, but he has a few people on MSN that he sends a link to for a live feed, and checks his MSN the whole time it's going on. So you at least hear him and his music. It's pretty fun.

As someone WITH skype, you'll hear waffles and some others too. They make me laugh.

Yeah dogs are harder to train, because they value the rank system. If it's rude to you, it usually means that dog (male or female?) sees itself as more important, of higher rank.

He does growl at me when I walk past certain areas of the house…
He even at times pees on my bed and ruins my things..

Then yes, your low in the heiracy in his mind, near the bottom of the ranking system. Dogs do those things to assert their authority. It's his way of telling you that your in his space, using what belongs to him.

He's claiming your things, because he thinks that's his right. In short, he thinks he outranks you and is putting you in your place. It's not an easy thing to fix.

Prolly it's just that you didn't set clear rules as to who was what in your home, so as got older his instincts kicked in, and he took the role he thought was his. Happens to a lot of people. Dogs see things differently than we do after all.

I do agree that some dominating would help in this case, but not if Ruinsku doesn't know how to show her dog what her rank is, and the dogs role in response to that. If you just dominate an animal but don't set clear roles, all the animal sees is a challenge it lost, and will keep trying to fight you every so often to regain it's lost position.

That cause an even bigger defiance issue, especially if for some reason, Ruinsku was to lose.

Aggressive animals will be aggressive
Either neuter it or completely outstrip it. Obviously, it'd be nice of the animal somehow became nicer or wasn't completely terrified of you, but if you're adverse to that option, just two paths. Take it or reverse it.

lol, hey it could happen! The dog might be a smaller one, (based on how she described it) but sometimes those things can be worse than the big dogs. They tend to be faster and harder to get a grip on.

Now, chances are she won't lose.. but it needed to be mentioned. There is a risk to challenging an animal.
