Possible, but with only a 1/3 chance per friend, and needing to have both beaten the Elite 4, who knows.

Don't you think that there are people outside of CTFG who enjoy seeing you like this and continuous give you nep reg to act this way?

I think it's mostly people in CTFG that are doing it, ones that I've had clashes with and just want to see suffer.
Some might be IB because I've clashed with them in the past but I don't think it's them this time doing it on this scale.

Sadpanda works if you have patience. You just need to keep refreshing 2 or 3 times and it'll eventually give in.

I'm aware it works, it's just horrendously buggy. They posted something about needing a new server or something on their facebook I think. Either that or they were having server issues lately, forget which it was.
