in a simple way you cannot divide by zero because it disproves, or proves anything.
For example: 3*0=0, if you divide both sides by zero you would be saying that 0/0=3
therefore, you could make zero divided by zero equal anything

anyways as it is already been said its because if u have x number and divide it by zero u may say...
3/0=??? 0 fits 9 times in three, since zero times 9 is zero, it could also fit 8 times since 8 times zero is zero, it could also be 7 times zero, since 7 times zero equals zero, {...} also any real numbre times zero equals zero and there for it is undefined ;)

I am totally going to nerd out and say this but for example in D&D if you rip open a dimension inside another one you destroy everything which they call dividing by zero.....in other words you just don't do it

I actually dispelled this a couple days ago.
When you subtract
2ab from both sides, you turn both values into zero.
This equation, when taken literally, proves that zero equals zero.
Checkitout:
2a[size=10]2[/h] = a[size=10]2[/h] + ab
2a[size=10]2[/h] - 2ab = a[size=10]2[/h] + ab - 2ab
Because a=b ab=a[size=10]2[/h]=b[size=10]2[/h]
2a[size=10]2[/h]-(2a[size=10]2[/h] in place of ab) =0
and, because ab+a[size=10]2[/h] = 2ab (because, you are adding two of the quantity (ab)
(ab+ab)-2ab=0
When you substitute:
2a[size=10]2[/h] - 2ab = a[size=10]2[/h] + ab - 2ab
for
2a[size=10]2[/h]-(2a[size=10]2[/h]) = (ab)+ab-2ab
Consolidating terms:
0=0

A better and more simpler explanation is that at the end when (a[size=10]2[/h] - ab) is divided from both sides, (a[size=10]2[/h] - ab) is by definition equal to zero because the given definition in the beginning is a = b. Because (a[size=10]2[/h] - ab) is equal to zero, the operation is impossible.
That's a little simpler I suppose. Didn't need to go explaining a while lot. I don't know. Just trying to make math a little simpler.

Well, that's true, but since we arrive at a2 - ab by deducting both sides with 2ab, I think that's where it went wrong actually.

There is nothing wrong with anything until you get to the part where you divide. You're allowed to do every single thing that occurred before the division by 0.

I don't do well with this experimental math bullshit. I just gave the unknowns a value (a=1 unit) and did it with mental M&Ms.
