Reminds me how a so-called "friend" took my disc of Tekken 5 and never returned it... later heard that he just gave it away to someone else... I wanted to play that. But then couldn't find it on the store anymore. :

That's why I very rarely lend anything out to anyone unless I know I'm going to get it back, or if I know they would feel terrible if they really had given it away if I were to confront them about it.
Did they just take it without asking?

He was looking at the games I had when he payed me a visit. When he was about to go, Tekken 5's disc was on his hand before I knew it. I kind of trusted that guy back then, but I should have been stupid to have done that. He always tried to use me, since childhood.
But yeah, I let him take it for awhile; never got it back. It was totally my fault for being optimistic and expecting it back.
And this guy dares to think that we're still friends after all that had happened between us.

I've done something similar with a memory stick with some music videos on: I had lent it to my Japanese teacher (we both like this group) and she returned it, I then told my friend who was standing next to us at the time what was on it and she made a face like she wanted to borrow it as she likes the group too, so I lent it to her, without any sort of proper lending agreement or whatever like when she would give it back - I just handed it to her straight after receiving it back.
This was last year and I haven't heard about it since. I haven't confronted her about it because I've left it pretty long and it just feels too awkward to mention it now.
There's never been anything bad between us though, we get on really well.
Did you mention it to your 'friend'?

I see... too bad.
Guess who I heard it from? That guy himself. And he behaved as though it was not a big deal and that he did something like a cool job of giving it away. IIRC, he said, "Oh that? I gave it away to my brother's friend, it's long gone by now."

Ah well... I should have known him by then, I guess. I suffered for my fault, I suppose. At least I learned a lesson.

Same thing happened to me. Lend two games away to two of my "friends" (Pharaoh and The Watchmaker). Never have it back. I still have the box of Pharaoh with manual and all. Lesson learned, people is shit, no lending.
