So, I made this post to explain my seasonal writing entry’s title and the name of my character. You can check it out
here . I don’t know if posting a link like this in another posts is against the rules or not…
OK, so here it goes:
Verilox: The origin of the word is a archaic English adverb “verily” which means “truly; certainly”. “Verilox” is a word I made up myself from it, which is a noun. An alternative title for my story would be “Behind shining lights, darkness holds the truth” – which sounds uncool… (yeah, I suck with titles). Anyway, (some of) you would think I’m a linguist or something, but actually the story behind the word is really funny. It goes like this: I finished my first 300 words and was ready to call it a day, I need to save my work for later. So I was thinking about the title. Then, suddenly, the word “verilox” just popped into my head! I typed “verilox”. I saved it. Then I felt a strange hunch, so I look it up on the dictionary. And there’s a word “verily” which suits my piece perfectly! How awesome is that? Hope that occurs more in my exams, though… (I’m still a college student)
Mysta: you all would probably guess by now it came from the word “mystery”, right? Well, at first I was actually want to use the name “Tech”. But then Tech didn’t gave me permission and tell me just go ahead and make myself (fictionally) become one of their members. I wanted to use Tech at first †˜cause I wanted thank Tech and his team for all their new awesome releases, but then I re-read my story and think it wouldn't be so much of a compliment regarding my character’s personality…
