for 1 and 2, to me a discussion is when both sides can actually compromise/convince each other. if people won't change their opinion no matter what, screw it, it's not a discussion no matter how serious you are. that has another entry, called forcing your opinions.
as for 3, I ask, just why they can't stand newbies? proud they have registered a year earlier than them? pfft.
