There are problems
Some users are inactive
It would be impossible to prove if someone asked/notified another person about it
etc

I see, but you would have to have actual proof from each master saying it is alright. Otherwise, it wouldn't work. Or you just drop trading people.

Well, I dont mind being bought, but I think I should know about my auction first or about being purchased at least (lol)... or auction myself. :) I am guessing this is the issue at hand? The one being discussed?
If so, this is actually easier to fix..
All users are up for grabs, as they are now, HOWEVER, once a claim goes out for someone, that person is PM'ed by Manga or some other thread official. This lets the user to have a chance to be involved.. no response, whether inactive or not, is seen as compliance, since they were given the chance to express that they do not wish to be sold.
The thread official is the key here, as one could know people HAD been notified, due to policy.

Well there is the question as to once notified, how much can the user do?
if the user can't do anything, notifiying would be essentially poitnless

Hmm,... this is true, but at least they would know, when you pm... be sure to highlight that they cant buy themselves, but maybe someone else would want to bid for them. :)
Its a fun system, but I think there should be notice.

Well that's what I mean.. knowledge of their auction is the first step. Knowing this, they could choose to withdraw from the market or something. Even watch if people fight for them.
One thing is clear though.. people should be notified. Lots of folks are surprised, though usually pleasantly, when they are bought. That needs to be solved.

Sigh
More work for me
Its a good point though
I'll take that into consideration
Actually, let me invoke the tyrant dictator clause and just add that up without issue

And the new notification system
@Maho

Well, its not like i want assistants
the only way stuff gets done is if you do it yourself, right?

My Opinions:
On #1: No because that a lot of work.
On #2: Only if both parties agree (ie current master and potential master) Agrees with Zan
on #3: -not enough knowledge of the system to vote.
On #4: No. Notifications would solve this. :)

no you should not be able to trade people I believe it would only be fair if a person is released first so others can have a chance at that person if they are wanted then re bought but straight over trading should be a no
also no you shouldnt be able to buy yourself the whole part of making this game fun is being able to buy who ever you want or beating others to it otherwise the game would be ruined if you could just buy yourself to stop others from buying you but you still get to buy others? I whole heartedly dislike this one even more than the one about trading

I stick with what I said.
1)No
2)Only if both parties agree Usually, no. But if there is sufficient reason by the person being owned to rebuke their owner, then that previous owner cannot auction for that person, and the other people can. (Kinda like selling a person on the slave-market when the first owner can't handle them [just used as a reference].)
3)I think only 1 per round, but unlimited auction (where if you win, you lose that much RP for the whole year)

I edited 4 sorry, haha, I meant no, and that the notifications would inform them and at least give them a chance to see if someone.... you know... i dont know anymore because i wouldnt want to see people running around the threads complaining or asking or trying to sell themselves. I wouldn't but I dont know about everyone else.
*pouts*
ok just notify them when the auction is about to begin. hehe, so they can at least watch and scramble if they must.
