Nicholas FlamelI dunno if he's Dead OR Alive till today, but i'll just ask him if he still has the recipe for the Elixir of Life and the Book of Abraham... and then ask him if I could borrow them.
And yes, he exists (existed) IRL.
Existed.
No such things as elixir of immortality.
It would have to be a pretty awesome person for me to spend time with them. Otherwise I would prefer my own company. Or a hot Asian chick.
WE can never know if there is an Elixir of Immortality or not, since he has the Book of Abraham with him.
Also, his tomb was empty when graverobbers came to take his gold (he was said to discover the secret of turning stone to gold). His body was never found, so it can be possible that he still exists today.

It might sound dumb, but I'd wanna hang with Steve Irwin at least once. I mean, I always watched his shows ever since I was in elementary school. When he died, I felt a little of my childhood go with him. I'd like to thank him for the only serious education that made me smile and laugh.

That's pretty much irrelevant. Immortality is more or less impossible. If it is possible, we do not currently have the technology to understand how or make it happen, so it's beyond unlikely that he did at his time, even assuming he knew a great deal more, scientifically, than the other people of the time (which is the most likely explanation for what people call Alchemy). More or less same story about turning stone or lead to gold. It's theoretically possible (for those of you that wouldn't have thought of such silliness, the difference between gold and lead is a few electrons, and lead is clearly more common than gold. So if you could take 3 electrons from lead, it would be gold), but there is no way to actually do it, really, short of a large nuclear reaction, I guess. So it would have been significantly more impossible for him to do it.
And what with immortality being impossible, it is almost absolutely assured that he is not still around today.

Immortality is also 100% impossible to prove. As log as you outlive anyone trying to prove that you're (im)mortal then you've always existed as far as they're concerned.

Well, we still couldn't really tell the truth. He got it all from one source.
He turned lead to gold and gained immortality through ONE source. The Book of Abraham.
Now I don't really know if it exists or not, but it's not impossible for things to contain such knowledge. Anyways, records say that Nicholas purchased a book that had strange writings. He traveled to Spain to get help decoding the book. Then he reported back that it was a copy of the Book of Abraham.
After decoding parts of the book, Nicholas and his Wife discovered how to turn stone into silver, then gold. Finally, enough to create the Elixir of Life.
After his recorded death, a graverobber visited his tomb, only to find his body missing.
Now after all of what I just said, it sounds like a fairy tale, right?
Well,it sounds like it, but it's still not impossible for the Book to not exist. It's also not impossible for it to contain such knowledge. Nothing is sure since History is still a mystery, even if people say that the stories are 'set in stone'
Point is, I dunno how he turned stone into gold without blowing half of the country, but one thing is sure. Everything he has reported could be true.... IF we could find proof that the book of Abraham exists.

I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm saying it's very very very improbable. And you are talking about, basically, magic. And magic is entirely circumstantial.
Arguing about magic is silly.

Yes. I am talking about magic. I was about to say 'miracle' (since his disappearance is basically about the same as Jesus), but that'd be just plain silly.
And yes, arguing about magic is silly since no answer, reasonable or not, can be assuring or accurate when it comes to this

So we can at least agree that Nicholas Flamel was about as magic as Jesus.
But yeah, it's sortof like arguing about religion subjectively; rationality doesn't work because one or both sides isn't using rationality as a basis for their argument. There isn't any way to back up your claims when talking about personal belief or faith.
Although, in a recent discussion with a friend of mine, he told me things we can't prove, that we might call magic, are really just sciences we don't have names for and haven't learned how to study and prove yet.
Sort of like what Alchemy used to be. Things that we can do even simply now, like light a match or something, at one time would have been considered magic or sorcery or something like that.
Basically, if these things are possible, they also can be explained and rationalized scientifically and mathematically at some point.

I really need to manage my time better. Since shit's all crazy for me at the moment, I'll just throw out the name Comte de Saint-Germain and leave the rest up to all of you for now. I've been very interested in alchemy for I don't know how long, I guess maybe 10 or 11 years. So, I've done a considerable amount of reading, research, and blah blah blah.

Also, I'm pretty sure they can't survive outside of a host, since you can't catch cancer.
