I think its a site favorite because it's one of the few VN/Anime's that can get an emotion out of us manly men.

Wouldn't say it is the favorite, but it is rated #5 on MAL for a reason. Everyone loves Clannad. XD

#5 seems kinda low to me. clannad should rank even higher...it's easily an all-time fav.

Well actually I should have specified ~After Story~ I think Clannad is like in the low 30s, and After Story jumped to #3. Woot!. The highest right now is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, which has had number one for a LONG TIME. Can't say I agree with that, but oh well. XD

Nine? The first season is 22+ 2 OVAs and the second season (~after story~) is 24 episodes and a new OVA will be comming the next month.

Haha, I know I'm a minority. I tried watching the first... I don't know three or four episodes, but gave up. I'm not a huge mecha fan, but I actually plan on giving it another whirl sometime during an anime dry spell. XD

I agree with Waar though I haven't seen the second season of Clannad, from what I've heard it wasn't really that great which would mean that the first season is a hell of alot better. And it makes me think why the hell is it the low 30's it should be somewhere in the top 10. And even though I've only partially watched Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann its still a good show and should be up there somewhere as well.
