That was quite the while ago, and at that time there weren't many sites with written material and the like or at least i never clicked on them even if they were there... If you really want to base it on intelligence then I will try to explain it in the most logical scientific explanation. Because our intelligence is so high we do not carry much imagination and creativity. Normal things do not satisfy us too well. We are fascinated by anime and manga because it is a fantasy world that we would never think of and it satisfies us. This later expands for a more sexual desire for some. Since our mind is not satisfied with reality we believe that a more erotic viewing of these fantasy characters being screwed is so amazing. It directs us towards a new way to view things at our disposal.

Just to add another twist to this topic, how old are you all and where are you all from? I know this is an American site and most of you will be American, but let's see. Personally, I'm 19 and from South-East London, England.
Personally, i dont believe we should be voting on something like this since we are all choosing yes or no based upon our own speculation as to whether we, individually, are intelligent. I do not believe the vote is fair because everyone has a higher opinion of themselves, especially if they are the only ones who are there to give themselves credit. Ex. Alot of people who enjoy fantasy and fantasy-type pornography are socially exempt, as in, they may get well with others, but they have a far greater understanding of the human psyche, which is why they(we) jump to fantasy, to get away from a reality that we understand far too much about.
On the other hand we have katsuki who says that intelligence isnt part of it, in which i must say i agree to an extent. Ex. for a young mind introduced to the sexual world through animation before actual pornography, they may become more attracted to the animated character, simply because it was there first.
another point- a young mind may also be attracted to a animated character, because of thier personality and expression, and to that mind, they find great comfort with that specific type of persona, perhaps due to childhood trauma or otherwise, they may become unattracted to the world not through understanding but simply through pain.
Of course there is also the fact that you require much more understanding of the human psyche to be able to become attracted to a character you find 'safe' simply because you(or the person in question) have to understand the different facial features and expressions as well as the way and form that the character(s) talk in order to grasp a human-like quality to override your system(biologically/chemically speaking) to become attracted simply through character and not due to pheromones secreted through sweat etc.
Also, on that note(the one talking about how we all think of ourselves better then we think we do) i voted yes, not because i think i am intelligent (because, as of yet, i have not found a concrete example or explanation of or for intelligence[btw i believe, thus far, that intelligence is the making and creation of ideas, rather then a database of knowledge... the creationism inside you is fueled by knowledge not by itself alone, when combined that is intelligence]) but because i think that whoever understands any of this should understand exactly what i am saying and should, themselves vote no.......in which case they will probably vote yes because im not sure if anyone will understand this, because i myself, barely understand me. Meh, can go either way... I'm into hentai yet failing college atm, while I have friends who aren't into hentai, but are passing college. I'm not saying I'm a dumbass, but due to certain circumstances I just don't put in enough effort like my friends do, so hopefully after some changes this year things will work out for the better.

But hentai's connection to int maybe a bit random, because some people never mature from just endless fapping from it, & yet still acts like a kid in public...

I'm a 23-year-old from northern California. I managed high school alright, and I'm getting C averages in college. I consider myself to be very intelligent, and I mainly attribute my rather mediocre grades to laziness more than anything. I actually tend to catch onto the material quite easily, but the work involved is just horribly redundant. I might be sounding arrogant (though who doesn't in this thread?), but in all honesty, I never even considered myself to be all that smart back when I was younger. It was when I started to see that the people around me don't even remember that the word "answer" has a silent W and can't divide something with a multiple of 5 if their life depended on it that I started to think either my intelligence is quite above-par, or I'm living in a very retarded community.
Though, by default, I think anyone here who knows the Japanese language to a decent extent (by which, I mean going beyond common otaku terms like "kawaii" and actually understanding some slightly complex grammar worth crap) should qualify as considerably intelligent people. In my case, I find it worth noting that I'm actually learning some Japanese from hentai... no joke. I mean, I learned the basics over the years from various other sources, but I fap to a lot of raws, and when I stop to read the dialog, certain kanji (or kanji-compounded words) will continually come up. I only need to look up said kanji once or twice, and I'll get its reading and meaning pretty well-recognized. By this point in time, I can read through quite a bit of raws without even needing a dictionary (though it helps that the scripts in hentai tend to be very simple and formulaic, especially once the fucking starts).
