Questions for Fellow Language Learners

Hey everyone. I only realised I had posted this in IB after I had actually posted it... Oh well. I am aware of the thread asking "what languages do you speak?", but I wanted to go a bit further. For those of you learning a language what are your methods? Do you use textbooks, audio CDs (or both) etc. What is your personal method? Do you study daily? I am mostly learning Japanese by means of textbooks and audio (the Pimsleur & Michel Thomas methods), of which I have a mixture. I also know a lot of German, and a little of Korean and Mandarin. I try to study daily but sometimes find it quite hard to become motivated, even though it's something I want to take further in life; I want to be a translator.
Another question I wanted to asked, which I think is quite interesting: are you an independent learner, have classes with a group, or have a personal tutor? Also, what are your views on classroom learning? Personally, I agree with this guy (after watching this video ^-^):

Learn basic grammar and then just read read read, listen listen listen. Just like little kids when learning how to speak.
Gets a little tricky with languages using different alphabet than your mother language though.

Well when I was taught Korean my method for learning was to be a total badass and have a natural knack for language learning, plus being taught by Native speakers at a Military institute designed and operated for the sole purpose of language teaching helped, i guess. I'm still pretty sure it was my badassery.
