Its easy to find anime with educational content. Stuff like Upotte, Girls und Panzer and Oda Nobuna no Yabou where the characters are historical figures or personified objects are example. The viewer has the opportunity to learn a great deal from the show. Conversely, there may be some liberties taken with facts when inserting cute women and sometimes an interesting story. Do you think anime can serve as an effective medium of teaching viewers stuff or is it just making facts entertaining without purposefully teaching?

All the stipulations you made for questions make it less "Ask Me Anything" and more "Ask These Very Specific Questions or I'll Ignore You".

OT: What are your thoughts on foreign characters in anime? Do you find them racist or hilarious? Or hilariously racist?

@ Freak: In an attempt to lower my standards, I've recently given this series a third try. They should do away with the thrown in alien aspect and just make it a slice of life because it's more about the character relationships than anything.

@ Kiraneko: Yandere is pree cool. TTGL is my favorite anime because of the strong characters, fantastic plot, and it changed my personality...no joke. I can watch TTGL over and over and it will deliver the same thrill.

@ broken butterfly: Think of it like a picture book to a kid describing DNA. It depends on what the author of the media was thinking, I guess. Whether they were trying to educate or make something boring to be fun is beyond me.

It depends on how you accept it, whether you're offended or not is up to you. I see a black man being parodied, I laugh because I have a sense of humor and sometimes it's true. How come we're depicted as fucked up in doujins...? See Black Time and many other gangbang doujins featuring black men.

@ Oda, I need to watch FLCL again because at age 16 I wasn't looking for a hidden meaning, I just wanted to watch anime. FLCL was funny as hell, hidden message or not.
