Saber vs. Sephiroth

Ever heard of Avalon? That would prevent Saber from being defeated. Sephiroth's Metoer wouldn't work.

Im going by what i remember from the game, and there people could see it with their naked eye and even had the time to make a plan, and send up a rocket with materia trying to blow it up before it reach "earth".
So yeah, it's slow as hell.

I re-check the battledome for her feats, and it was with a command spell boost she moved at mach 13, her regular speed was somwhere between mach 5-7.

Come on guys, I'm taking this as a videogame - each character would have his or her own special moves, and Sephiroth's special would be the unblockable meteor summon. Realisitically, once the meteor reaches the stratosphere, it's speed will tremendously accelerate due to momemtum and acceleration. Of course, video games aren't realistic to begin with in most cases.

Yes, I do know what's Avalon, but I was not aware of its abilities. It was in my understanding that Saber never had Avalon to begin with and that it was Shiro who replicated the Avalon for her use.

Well then Saber special move would be Avalon combined with Excalibur, and with Avalon activated she's pretty much invincible :P

I thought Saber never had Avalon to begin with. And if you put Avalon together with Excalibur, then the balance of a 2D fighting game would be pointless.

Now if we're just comparing stats and each character's abilities by themselves, I have no doubt Saber would win. That is if she had Avalon.

Even if she can dodge the meteor, it would destroy the planet, effectively destroying her as well, unless she had Avalon.

My thoughts exactly. It wouldn't be fair for sephiroth to have his ultimate move and limit Saber's abilities.

I was going for a straight up battle with the two based on their known feats, so if you're talking about how it would be in a 2d fighting-game battle then i don't know, and im gonna stay out of it lol.

@G-Money, if you really want the facts concerning Avalon and Saber and Fate info in general. Then get into ther series more with Fate Hollow and Fate Zero. Also yiu may wanna revisit FSN and the game then later play Fate Hollow the game

@KloWn: Well I was using the 2D fighting game for a base in moves and attacks. If we compare the abilities of both as a straight up battle, I think it's clear Saber would win, even without Avalon.

@All my knowledge on F/SN is from the anime and online surfing, namely wikipedia. I've never played the game because I can't stand long VNs, eroges, and even RPGs. According to the anime, I think Saber defeated Gilgamesh with Excalibur as well as Shiro's ability to imagine break the Avalon as part of himself, "the vessel" due to his magic abilities. This is what I'm going by, but it probably isn't as accurate to the true storyline. (The anime was said to be adopted from the main storyline with covering bits from other story arcs.)

What the fuck is this shit about meteor?

It's Saber vs. Sephiroth, not some ball of fire summoned by use of the black materia.

Besides, Sephiroth cannot conjure enough energy to summon meteor unless he's at a special place where that energy was collected. Hence why the story had the party going to the great crater. Besides it takes time to summon the damn thing and even more for it to arrive. I believe the argument should've been how much TIME it would take for the attack to hit. Physics anyone, Time = velocity x DISTANCE! It shouldn't matter how fast Saber or the Meteor or whatever the fuck you guys are talking about is. Saber is a meter away from Sephiroth, and Meteor is several hundred
Thousand miles away from hitting Saber.

Damn, I was goin' for sephiroth there for awhile, based on the fact that I liked his One Winged Angel song, and I always thought he was cool.

Somebody probably went into Sephiroth's character folder and reduce his ATK damage ratio and DEF damage ratio down a lot.

if this is an unbalanced character fight id say saber really wins cuz sepi dont have much moves (unless if they put up some of his moves in KH 2)and for saber ... uses avalon = instant win
