Grr, as a Madoka fan I will not stand for this. It's entirely easy for someone who has the confidence to say "Oh, Madoka, just do it." But for Kaname Madoka, a girl who never really had any real physical talents(you know, before the whole Kyubei thing came along) how could she believe that she could be self-independent and strong? Along the way as the series developed, Madoka became more and more confident in herself, leading to her decision.
And I can't believe you don't find the plot to be deep? You've got this dream foreseeing what's to come, this mysterious creature and these witches. Along with the seeming protagonist in Homu-Homu. Then you find out of Kyubei's disconnect with other Humans.
And when Sayaka goes bat shit insane, it's like: "That's so totally the Human thing to do." Let's think, if it were us for a second ans we found out that hey, we're ghosts/zombies.
And there's a reason I chose Goddess Madoka as an avy. In protesting your minimizing what she's done. To quote Madoka: "My wish, is to rid the world of witches. As long as that happens....I won't feel despair!" She sacrificed her soul and her very being, to save girls from experiencing the same trauma that she and the others suffered through.
And, my defense is that at least I'm not a weeaboo!(A weeaboo being, someone who would want to incorporate the Japanese lifestyle and language into their life, but doesn't actually put the effort into it....) And I don't think many of us who watched Madoka are weeaboos either. Madoka is the greatest anime of all time, period. That said, it wasn't the first to deconstruct the Mahou Shoujo genre. That glory belongs to Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. But it sure as hell went farther than Nanoha did in deconstructing it.(Nanoha still had some basic key elements of Mahou Shojo. Whilst, by episode 5 Kyubei lost his cuteness appeal. Which was basically the last string of Mahou Genre in the anime.)
tl;dr and who are you?
