Can/should work/studying be done whilst cuddling?

So I was putting off studying for a test- I mean thinking, what would happen if you had something/someone to cuddle while you were working on school-related stuff?
In all seriousness, I think I might be able to get stuff done easier if I had something soft to lean my head against in the seated position (I've tried sitting up in bed, really awkward/uncomfortable for me).
Has anyone tried this?

Cuddling/being close to someone is great when working on something together. I like working on the floor.
