on a unrelated side note.If you were transported to another world that is set in a fantasy medieval world.
Would you try to make guns? What would be the first gun you'd try to make?
Depends if the world is peaceful or not. Teaching them about hygiene and getting them industrialized would be a more productive goal.
Of course if magic Hitler was raising up an army to destroy humanity I probably would. Something easy to handle but fast and inexpensive the mass reproduce.

No medieval alt world will be a peaceful one. Unless there no great religion or political movement. But if there a dark age like event then the best and easiest firearm to make is a shotgun or blunderbuss. Just need to make some type of tube pipe or horn type tube and harden it. Gunpowder, lead balls and some type of firing mech. Match light with a powder pan or stikeplate. You may might make a potato gun if you can aerosolize alcohol.

I'd build a blunderbuss, you can load anything into those. Rocks, nails, chain links, silverware and *BOOM* at close range you got a bloodbath.

can black powder be used in rounds for revolvers?Black powder was used in all firearms before the invention of smokeless powder in the late 18th century. Modern revolvers can use it, but it is very dirty to shoot and causes rust, not to mention it makes a big cloud and is not as stable as modern smokeless powder. Plenty of people shoot black powder firearms for fun.

So is there a difference between the way smokeless and blackpowder is made?

yes,the way it is synthesized is different. You can read more on wikipedia, I don't know enough about both to explain.

I don't agree with almost anything you've said except that if there was no guns there's be no gun related crimes. But that's an extremely hollow statement, very detached from our reality. If you consider it a "victory" in any way, congrats on the poor reasoning? Overall they're better at deterring crimes than causing them, and your constant claims of "YOU ONLY WANT THEM, YOU DON'T NEED THEM" are not only misguided but dangerous.
Yeah, I don't consider it a "victory", I'm simply too drained to continue to argue when there is no possible way we're going to convince each other. I still don't agree with the "better at deterring" comment but there's no point even talking about it. So I guess I'm just dropping it?

Typical knee-jerk reactions after mass shootings. Not exactly a knee-jerk reaction when what I'm talking about is the norm up here, and almost everywhere else. You get you're not the only country in the world right?

I wonder how hard it is to make the smokeless one.
