I HIGHLY recommend Flowers of Evil.
Once I started with the first ep, I watched the whole season in one sitting.
Its really up there for me.

Have you checked out Hellsing. I mean its not "scary" but when can u not call a vamp guy going beserk and changeing into a massuve black/bloody spectral hellhound not a little intimidateing. Specialy when he's standing over a guy ,whos missing half his body, says he nothing but a dog to which Alicard (I belive tis his name) says, "well if im a dog then your dog food. and soon you'll be dog shit!" Plus iz got undead nazis, a chick with a BIG ASS rifle, and some gold old fashion "Re-painting of the wall to a brandy-like color" I liked it. Then again i am kind of into the darker side of anime. Oh and if you want a mystery thing, Murdock Scramble.

I haven't come across any good Horror Anime at all.
Even Gyo was meh.
