People act like it's some sacred internet cow, one which cannot be corrupted and must be worshipped and revered, it's not. It's just a bunch of morons hiding behind the veil of anonymity, who entirely missed the point of a place created for killing time and making stupid jokes for a cheap laugh.
It's devolved into whatever it is now, it's populated by people who misunderstood the "joke", who then showed it to/allowed it to be discovered by people who further misunderstood the "joke", and now it's just generation after generation of new users looking down on the next newest one for being dorks.

To me, the dumbest thing I've ever seen is Chan culture as a whole. The shit these people spend time doing is really ridiculous. The things that they start to believe is also ridiculous. How impressionable they are is ridiculous and so is the way they behave.

Seriously, people should cut it out. What's sad is that there are adults on the site who participate in all the crap, not just thirteen year olds. That's not to say 4Chan (and other chans) is/are all that bad... there are some good things that come out of it (porn, wallpapers, and those rare discussions that are worth having). But for the most part it's a shitty web-culture filled to the brim with dicks, assholes, etc. Just about everyone who regularly posts there is a follower, conformist and fails to think for themselves. Just about everyone.
