the hacker's manifesto
0
Another one got caught today, it's all over the papers. "Teenager Arrested in Computer Crime Scandal", "Hacker Arrested after Bank Tampering"...
Damn kids. They're all alike.
But did you, in your three-piece psychology and 1950's technobrain, ever take a look behind the eyes of the hacker? Did you ever wonder what made him tick, what forces shaped him, what may have molded him?
I am a hacker, enter my world...
Mine is a world that begins with school... I'm smarter than most of the other kids, this crap they teach us bores me...
Damn underachiever. They're all alike.
I'm in junior high or high school. I've listened to teachers explain for the fifteenth time how to reduce a fraction. I understand it. "No, Ms. Smith, I didn't show my work. I did it in my head..."
Damn kid. Probably copied it. They're all alike.
I made a discovery today. I found a computer. Wait a second, this is cool. It does what I want it to. If it makes a mistake, it's because I screwed it up. Not because it doesn't like me... Or feels threatened by me.. Or thinks I'm a smart ass.. Or doesn't like teaching and shouldn't be here...
Damn kid. All he does is play games. They're all alike.
And then it happened... a door opened to a world... rushing through the phone line like heroin through an addict's veins, an electronic pulse is sent out, a refuge from the day-to-day incompetencies is sought... a board is found. "This is it... this is where I belong..." I know everyone here... even if I've never met them, never talked to them, may never hear from them again... I know you all...
Damn kid. Tying up the phone line again. They're all alike...
You bet your ass we're all alike... we've been spoon-fed baby food at school when we hungered for steak... the bits of meat that you did let slip through were pre-chewed and tasteless. We've been dominated by sadists, or ignored by the apathetic. The few that had something to teach found us willing pupils, but those few are like drops of water in the desert.
This is our world now... the world of the electron and the switch, the beauty of the baud. We make use of a service already existing without paying for what could be dirt-cheap if it wasn't run by profiteering gluttons, and you call us criminals. We explore... We seek after knowledge... We exist without skin color, without nationality, without religious bias... and you call us criminals. You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you murder, cheat, and lie to us and try to make us believe it's for our own good, yet we're the criminals.
Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. My crime is that of judging people by what they say and think, not what they look like. My crime is that of outsmarting you, something that you will never forgive me for.
I am a hacker, and this is my manifesto. You may stop this individual, but you can't stop us all... after all, we're all alike.
Damn kids. They're all alike.

What about when you start stealing massive amounts of credit card numbers, and start making large purchases? Not a criminal?

well written, but surely there are other things to do out there. then again, you can take a durkheimian stance and argue that crime is necessary for society to function? :]

a internet pirate wrote this manifesto while he was in jail for distributing movies "illegally". this "fuck" is a guide and cornerstone to hackers around the globe

A lot of fucking bullshit.Your avatar suggests you are a young African-American who has delved deeply into gang related activities and makes a living by shooting people and/or dealing drugs.
But that's besides the point.
Judging by the fact that you are a hacker, and are relatively new, I think you just tried to bring down the site.

I like this. I REALLY like this.
For those who can't understand what OP posted is about, go figure it out.

FYI: Hackers aren't script kiddies who do your PC. Neither are they criminals who hijack your machine into their botnet. Sharing files does not make one a hacker.
Hacking does. Pulling stuff or software apart and figuring out how it works. Experimenting and tweaking for the sake of knowledge. It takes effort and there is no "handbook" of hacking, for hacking is all about (re-)discovering how things work.

If you guys don't understand the OP and have nothing good to say about it... then just refrain from saying anything.
I, on the otherhand, do understand, and do agree with it to an extent. It's really true how the older generation who run society just run it to the ground without a single care. I was one of the few students in high school that found a few mentoring teachers that were truly interested in imparting knowledge to me. But the not so lucky ones around me all wasted away as I watched. I couldn't do anything either: they neither wanted my help nor needed it. I couldn't change anything for them, for their life was already at a cul-de-sac, a dead end in which all they found was despair. Stereotype labels, not their personality, determine what they are in life. A number is all they worth to the rest of world.
It's easy to see how they could just let go and fall to their end like this. From the moment they realized that they weren't special, just yet another worthless human, they've started to live their life in apathy, without purpose.
It's easy to see then, how they could become addicted to online communities, to hacking, and to many other activities: There just wasn't anything worthwhile for them in real life.
But because of the whole criminal aura of hacking and underground net activities, they're instantly branded as incorrectable criminals by the court, and their life just ended like that, without having really even properly started in the first place. They come into adulthood full of hate, and leave society cursing it to hell.

Hackers are those guys that cracks or writes programs. Like programming a trojan so they can hack into ones system and steal infos or edit infos. I was once a hacker way back. We get into the vics computer and uploads lots of porn pics get the ids and pass, some credit card numbers to we can access porn sites just for the lolz. My os was win98, uses c++ and sub-zero(back door). We get our vics from IIRC since it was the most popular chat program back then, and lots of users don't use anti-virus yet so it was really easy to bypass.
