The Ryuu Effect:

A result of presence of specific user (namely, Minakami Ryuu), whose soothing presence, cute demeanor and manner of speech result in a specific set of stimuli acting on a brain in a peculiar manner.

As a result, the afflicted become overwhelmed with desire to hug the source of stimuli, cherish and protect it. Some have compared it to sudden manifestation of parental impulses in beings of same or similar group as Ryuu (...) Currently scientists are debating whenever this evolved as a specific method of communication or natural defense mechanism...
