Well, my living room got AC too... 2 ACs even... So... Well iunno about the efficiency, but I think nowadays ACs costs you much less electricity.

The modern AC costs less electricity tho... And of course we don't use the AC in the living room when no one's there.... But when my parents are not home, we usually turn on the AC for their bedrooms because my puppy sleeps there.
