Besides what's more important in an RPG is not the story or anything, but the world concept!.. With interesting world concept, I can get many inspiration for my own story

Actually, the people who created Mass Effect spent a lot of time developing the background for the game; I'm willing at least half of the several-year development project was dedicated to that, and it's still being developed as games and comics roll out.

And it has pretty amazing story, that you can directly influence, which is the main point of fun for me in RPGs.

It's play-style couldn't be more different from Atelier games though.

Someone is not able to tell a good story almost always implies a good world setting.

But not vice versa.
