Programming can only be learned through experimenting with lines of codes.

meh, then why do I always pass the exams with great scores?..you fail to understand the power of books...

I dont. Books are powerful, but in some cases, its a downfall.

A friend of mine, who we call "Beard", is a bloody linux jedi master.

He flatout told that If you learn linux by help book, good luck since you aint learning shit.

Same is with the programming.

We were teached about programming but we actually studies and gained more knowledge when we played with code.

BUt then again, People are diffrent.

Some learn by books, some prefer to get theyr hands dirty.

good..then I don't have to point out why...lol

Why not both?

Most things gathered from books need application. Even just useless trivia, in games, etc.

Even if one learns better through doing it, they still need to see it or have some idea of what they are doing from somewhere. And books can be that somewhere.

Bookih's desperately defending the books... Hahaha...

Books show the path, but you are the one who will carve that path.

Ultimately it is people who carve the paths, since books were written by people, but we could always use a helping hand

But watching the world, bullet would seem far more useful.
