So is this Code Gress(sp?) really worth buying or is it just the anime of the month?

Code Geass. It is a good anime in my opinion, but it depends on the person. If you liked Death Note and like a little mecha, you would like it with all the mind games, plot twists and a character getting a power trip. :D The mecha element in my opinion isn't really dominant but it is there and is an important part of the story.

I would recommend it as a must watch, but I don't know your taste so. :? At least give it a try with rentals.

No place around here rents anime. Never seen death note (I know this list of things I need to see get longer everyday), but I really don't like mechs, in fact Noun Gen Eva is the only series I ever finished with mechs. But I do like plot twists and mind fucks.

Damn that sucks. No rental place. NGE was ok, and actually is one of my least favorite of mecha. >.> As I said, the mechs are really there just to show that it's in the future and to make one side seem more powerful than the other. (Pretty much there to pose) I guess they do make a big deal about that, but a non-mecha fan could watch it and get passed it. If you are a fan of mind fucks and plot twists, you would definately like Death Note. I suggest at least reading the manga (Which can be read free online here).

I might wait to buy both (CG and DN) when they are released as full sets. I normally watch (expanples of each):

Love: Kashimashi ~Girl Meets Girl~, Suzuka.

Comedy: Welcome to the NHK, Azumanga daioh, Lucky Star.

Dark: Hellgirl, Speed Grapher.

Stuff like that.

I've either watched or read the series on the list except Speed Grapher and Hell Girl (currently watching though) and have enjoyed all of them so maybe you will enjoy these two series too. Death Note can also be considered "dark" also and seems to me you will enjoy it lots for sure, and if you do I'm pretty sure you will enjoy Code Geass if you get passed the mechs. (I'm not that great a fan of mechs so XD)

Anyway, I think I'm going to turn in since it's late. If you have more questions catch me tomorrow and I'll try and help as much as I can. :D
