Mochi, if I may make a suggestion?
Top chief currently means nothing, save for a potentially long list, and I'm not sure why people would want to aim for it. You should make it so that the current top chief has some sort of privilege, like a power to do something maybe. That would make it desirable, and worth noting.
It doesn't have to be anything fancy, I mean, we have a lot of simple games here.
But currently I am left thinking, why collect stars? I can have my name anywhere I like, more or less. I'm not trying to say hanging out here isn't cool, cuz really, we've not spoken before. (something I should fix) But I can do that with or without playing the game right?
So the top chief needs something imo. That way, your game has more of spotlight and doesn't get totally lost when people turn this into a chat thread.

Well, a lot of "competitions" don't have any prize. Hangman game, etc
In addition, we all love rewards, but it can be hell to make one. What are some sensible reward?

Your right, but most of those, that's the thread's entire purpose. Your "buy the user" thread is an example of this. That's not the case here, yet a lot of focus is put on that end goal of the top chief. Who knows, maybe I am wrong.. but with this one, it seems flat to just list the name.
Your right, a prize can be tough.. but I want to stay away from trying to come up with what the prize could be, unless asked by mochi or something. It's not my intent to nazi his game after all. My comment was meant more as feedback, food for thought as it were.

Hopefully I can tell you why people think there is too much purple however, take it however you want. In my own views there are some key things:
1.) Is the purple bolded? It seems a hair larger than the rest of the text. I'm not sure. I do know your eyes go right to it.
2.) Your sig is the main culprit here I think. Even a short post is bound to have lots of purple, meaning a short post will have more purple and blue than black, so the posts come off a little loud. If there a several smaller posts on a page, the whole page will be more purple.. add to this that you write in purple instead of black, and that's a lot of purple..
3.) Purple isn't a very common color here on F!, so people aren't used to it.
4.) In advertizing class I learned something interesting. Did you know most ads try to use as little purple as possible? It's cuz it's hard for human being to look at purple for a very long time. Turns out it goes back to when we were more basic beings.. in nature, purple is usually a dangerous or bad to eat color, so most humans are wired to avoid it more than some other colors.

Now, that said, you use whatever colors you want, however much you want. It's up to you. ^^

About the advertising, id say it has more to do with the mid ground between bright and dark.although admittedly, purple has been used for death. Spanish culture puts a lot of focus on that, la dama del alba, for example, uses purple to foreshadow death, but im other cultures it has been interpreted different ways.
Of course, the death perspective is much more common. Purple IS kinda creepy sometimes.

Frankly I do not like the idea at all so I will just hope that this game would live long enough for it to be popular.
About the colours. yes I do use "bold". I love the colour purple so I want to make it a bit larger and nicer.
and do not worry I am not offended by the facts that you have told me. other users would try to annoy me until I change my colour (but I never do list to them.). you on the other hand were accentually the nicest person who talked to me about my text colour. Thank you![/color]
