I'm not good with RTS. I'm too much of defense type to play effectively. Though this looks interesting.

I can say this that the world suffered from apocalipse and there are no laws. Only armies with huge guns and You can end up with railguns and gauss cannons.
Or mount big ass rocket launchers for VTOL craft. There are bunker busters there as well, since artillery arent as effective to walls and defences.

If you liked Warzone 2100, then you would probably like Earth 2150 and 2160.
Very similar.

They are employed, to some degrees. Most TSFs (as I envision it anyway, actual Muv Luv doesn't specify it) carry either explosive fragmentation shells, or tungsten-tipped discarding sabot rounds. Some units carry HEAT rounds, though usually in fewer numbers. Most TSFs carry less than a dozen shells of 120mm caliber, opposed to over thousand 36mm depleted uranium rounds.
The idea was also that the commander wanted to take out the BETA is one-two shots rather than waste precious ammunition. Fort-class BETA are as big as a flat block, so you'd need a lot of ammunition to take it down conventionally.
Show me what you got and maybe I can figure something out. I don't supose they have XM4.

Ah, I already have the part where they defeated it, though I can (and was planning to) give it to you for pre-reading.
The plan was for them to open a whole in a segment of armor in-between Fort's carapaces, so that the other pilot could shoot the 120mm cannons into the wound. Since neither of them was armor-penetrating, the rounds would bounce-off the other carapaces, doing mass of internal damage. The explosive round was meant to basically kill it from within, fletchette was to make sure it dies, and to kill any other BETA inside it.
It was a very long-shot, but they did have 3rd Generation TSFs and were elite pilots.
Oh yes. Bloody coastal drops are what Muv Luv is all about.

Well mine included incedary shells, HEAT, HEIAP rains along with numbers of TSF forces. Possibly even scavanged BETA tech used by TSF Froces.
Lance. Check The WarZone 2100 Mods. Extra skins for making the game pretty!
