WAIFU GAME XI: Discussion

The goal of this plan is to allow waifu stealing and loyalty into the game. First I'm going to talk about waifu stealing. When a waifu is validly claimed a 5 minute clock starts. In the next 5 minutes after the claim, anyone can steal that waifu by simply claiming him/her. The waifu can be re-stolen by anyone an unlimited number of times until the 5 minutes expires. Whomever has the claim at the end of 5 minutes keeps the waifu. In the event of posts with the same time stamp at the end of the 5 minutes, the claim will go to the post closer to the bottom of the page. If the initial claim is invalid, the 5 minute countdown does not start. All claims must be valid for them to count.

To bring loyalty into play, the 5 minute countdown can be completely eliminated depending on a user's loyalty.

If a user has claimed the same waifu over the last 3 games, that waifu is immune to being stolen when he/she is claimed by that user.

If a user has claimed the same waifu over the last 2 games, that waifu is subject to only a 1 minute countdown after that user claims him/her.

If a user has claimed the same waifu in the previous game, that waifu is subject to only a 3 minute countdown after that user claims him/her.

The 5 minute clock applies to any and all new and non-recent claims by a user. The 5 minute clock applies if a user claimed a waifu more than 3 games ago without claiming her again and/or if the user has never claimed the waifu.

I think this would make every round and every claim interesting to watch as people fight over waifu's.


Hot potato with waifu? This sounds like it will piss off a lot of people.

But it also sounds pretty interesting.

Just a thought, but what about maybe having it be active after, like, the third round or something? So people at least have a few absolute claims.

To be honest I'm not really a fan of having waifus stolen, but at the same time, I can see a need to make the game more interesting. However, I'm not sure if adding that kind of mechanic will bring more people in or drive them away. Dee's idea would help though because at least you can have 2 or maybe 3 definite choices and if anything that would make a person really have to think about who they favor the most, which is interesting.

Admittedly, some of my choices this game were just characters who I think are super hot or I think are cool, so having only 2 or 3 absolutes would make me have to think about who I actually really like as a character (though to be honest I don't really take this game seriously so for me it'd be whatever).

If its 3rd round onwards it should garner more attention for the later rounds since the first 2 are usually busy. If it does influence people into thinking more about claims then all the better. I like the 3rd round onwards idea.

I'm not for waifu-stealing option, but I'm not explicitly against it. At least, not enough to not try it. And if we really had it implemented, then we might as well reward the users who have been consequently claiming the same characters.

Speaking of which, I really liked the whole "bonus claim for a set", since I actually found it fun to cooperate with some people to get my sixth claim. I think that should stay.

We should get back to at least somehow rewarding long-time players. To be perfectly honest, I got through Waar's last two games just to have that extra slot. Art lolnoping it because "somethingsomethingNEWPEOPLE" was annoying as fuck.

...For starters, we could make a lottery reclaim: that is, people who played a certain amount of rounds can enter a reclaim lottery. Whether they actually win a reclaim will depend on blind luck and how much of a dick the new GM is. Yes, I did like Waar's lottery idea and winning it has nothing to do with it.

Permanent +1 bonus for even longer-time users? Why not? Because the way I see it, there is literally no point in playing this game long-term for anything but sentimental value.

Given that there will only be more and more waifus available as new series are created, I would consider increasing the limit to maybe 7. Perhaps 5 for first-timers. 6 for at least three games. 7 for five games or more.

I was also thinking of allowing reclaims for long-time users.

It's still a ways away, and we don't even know who'll be running next time, so I haven't really put a whole lotta thought into it.

[color=#ff69b4]For the goddesses in World only god knows in the anime, no. From what i have been reading in the mange still no.


For the Goddess their appearance is that of their host, but with alternate colors and in some cases facial markings.

In cases like ImoCho you can see the original appearance of the one doing the possessing as well as the host body.
