Whoa whoa WHOA! I'm not retiring from gaming. I think maybe part of me is just being a little self loathing about liking anime with girls 14 to 18 years old. I'm not saying it's wrong for anyone else but for me personally I feel a little self conscious about it.

I mainly wanted to say ecchi anime in general will probably make you lose a few brain cells while you watch it (if you're already smart and smooth, you can gain them back), and that if he likes pantie shots, he should at least exert SOME effort to get them in real life, and not just anime. I agree on people shouldn't be judged by their tastes, but people do/say what people want sometimes, even if subconsciously and just for the moment. I still stand by my statement of watching better quality stories and character development if you start to get tired of what you usually watch, which just so happens to be ecchi in NEXUS' case.

It's a grey area at the moment. Apparently they are writing new legislation and some guy who runs a brothel in Vegas is interested in opening up some here in Canada if it becomes legal. I read a lot of responses and I must say that I think a lot of you are right. I guess going crazy on the ecchi genre probably wasn't a good idea but there is also a part of me (a self loathing part) that likes to shame myself for my obsession. So much so that I put my Nyaruko-san figure back in the box and stored away in my room away from view. The part that sucks is that the whole reason I got into anime was because of ecchi themes. I used to watch Inuyasha because of Kagome and then when I was 18 I ordered a shit ton of ecchi/hentai themed dvds and just indulged myself within the visual pleasure they brought. I also think part of the reason I feel insecure about liking the kind of anime I like is because of society norms. I try and be open-minded about a lot of stuff but for some reason this issue just seems to kick my ass into submission. Part of me knows I shouldn't listen to what others tell me and be my own person but still, it just.... fuck. The human mind is a complicated thing.

Well it really depends on the person. If you feel like ascending from otakudom, then I will respect your choice. I know many older people who donate their old stuff to other places, i.e. My old high school's East Asian Literature and Cinematography club, started by yours truly. But never forget where your roots lie. And it's probably not anime's fault
