I love them, ever since I was a child.
The smell of ozone, the white, golden and blue flashes, the rolling thunders, rain and whipping wind...
It was always fun watching how trees get squashed one way and then the other, and how everyone is cowering when storm breaks out without warning.
It stops being fun when lightning fries the fuses tough. Or when a 2cm thick steel fence was all that kept a broken tree from smashing your house.
But other than that, it's all good.
My home city would actually have something of "storm season", with major thunderstorms occurring in middle of June, early July on yearly basis.
Tough it may be mostly due to how temperatures differ between the more mountainous that are nearby and the surrounding plains.

A ray of Tsunlight.
I couldn't care less about the thunder and lightning.
I just care about rain. If I had my choice, it'd rain five days out of the week, every week, like it does in Washington.
Not living there anymore ruins the whole rain thing.

Had a crazy one come in last night. It was pretty awesome. Had 5 inches of rain fall down which is a hell of a lot for here. We did have lightning strike our tree that was right up next to our house and it fell on our power lines around two years ago. I was there when it happened and it freaked me the hell out.
The Astronomy Picture of the Day has a pretty wicked shot of a lightning storm in Athens that you should check out.
I heard thats really dangerous to take a shower during one. They did a Mythbusters on it not too long ago but I can't remember any specifics.
Damn. I had one pass two blocks from my house. The whole area was fucked up. Its crazy how it just skips a house or two on its path and then completely obliterates every one after. I remember getting a picture with First Lady Clinton and then we had chain gangs come and help clean up.

I used to be scared of being hit by lightning, but now I can sleep right through a fukken thunderstorm no prob...
I would prolly step outside and stand in the rain if it was warm enough...
Yes there have been times where it was fucking hot, but it started raining and you can stand outside and the water feels warm...

I love them, I love the feel of standing in the rain, I think that lighting is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, thunder make my heart beat loud and strong, and I find the smell of ozon to be plesent.

As long as I'm not working on something via electronics etc. I love them. The roaring, the flashes, the feel of rain rushing down... ahh I think I came. Seriously though, I love them. There's nothing like watching a storm or standing in one.
