Are you being disingenuous or did you really not know what the word defensive means and how it relates to your actions? You can't also say "sure you're correct, that's what I've been saying this whole time :)" after making assumptions, putting words in my mouth and generally being really dismissive.
Broke one of my own rules here, which is a sign that this issue isn't worth perusing. Just...do whatever you want, believe what ever you want about others; it's really pointless to expect any different from you or most people in general.

Dark Souls 2 is set so far into the future that no one remembers what happens in Dark Souls 1.
So you don't have to beat the first game to understand the second. But it's all up to you, really.

You can spoil Souls 1, just not 2; there are some lore aspects/speculation floating around right now.
