got a cold, antibiotics. depress, antidepressents. can;t get hard, viagra. we are a drugged up nation of retards. granted some people really need meds to live and not kill. i'm one of them. list my meds
metformin for my diabetes
lisinopril for my blood pressure
Neurontin for my seizures
amitriptyline a antidepression med for my peripheral neuropathy
darvocet for pain
oxycontin for major pain rarely take it
niacin to clean my blood because of the above meds
and
of course **** to keep me eating and mellow(can't mention the name just because mods) and there others but i don't take on a daily bases to keep me living.

doctors prescribe tons of drugs we don't need, but they get cash for pushing them, and ask for meds for stuff not need them.

Yes, America is a very drugged up nation, whether we're talking about legal or illegal drugs. Some doctors do tend to overprescribe medications, but on the flip side there are a number of patients want an easy way out of their troubles, like, instead of making dietary changes to lower their cholesterol, they would rather take lipitor. Some patients also ask for drugs they may not need at all for their condition, like those who ask for antibiotics for viral diseases. A reason for this is that in this country, drug companies are allowed to advertise, a thing that, honestly, makes no freaking sense. Yes, it's ok to let people know about treatment choices, but I think patient education works much better than advertising in this regard.

it not a rant per say, it more of a attempt of a discussion on the pharmaceuticals company play on the health world on what meds you get... all of mine come from net since i can't afford to go get health insurance because i have bills kids and a wife before my own health and well-being

The medication craze will be the downfall of humanity. Sometime into the future they'll have no effect n us because we abuse them.

The main problems with drugs, anti-biotics and the like (which is increasingly world-wide) is chiefly their over-use.

Now, for everything there's an anti-biotic. There's so much of them, that people don't know what to do without them. Which means that when a virus or bacteria that's resistant altogether to them pop up, we will be royally fucked. It's already a problem, as there are cases of British people being infected by "super bacteria" that are simply resistant to every anti-biotic....or at least the strongest.

There was also the case in some country (Japan I think), that people took too much anti-bird flu medication, which would end up being released in their piss. Which would (through sewers) end up in all manner of reservoirs. Point was, the water contained so much anti-bird flu medicine that there was concern of strain evolving to point nothing could touch them.

The age-old mantra of "everything in moderation" is age-old for a reason.

What Room101 said. Drugs are a wonderful invention but like any good thing they should be used and not abused.

This is the main reason to why I don't take medications of any sort unless I'll be rendered more or less unconscious/immobile if I don't.

As it has been stated, it's the copious amounts of drugs that is the problem, and the fact that people don't realize that they'll be just as good off without them. In this day and era when we have medication for everything people tend to get more and more hypochondric each day, and takes more and more drugs for shit that they don't need medication for. As someone said the main problem is antibiotics as more and more bacteria grows resistant against it, rendering it useless for future versions of the bacteria in question. This is something that bugs the hell out of me, that and the fact that people don't realize it.

This being said I could be seen as a hypocrite, since I would be lying if I didn't admit to smoking a splif every once in a while but that's not something I do for medical purposes, or with the imagination that it's in any way good for me.

Yeah the good old us of a is a pretty drugged up place and people used to die at a much earlier age but now people can live longer and saty happier ( at least until it wears off), I don't take any drugs for an thing and I'm gonna guess it kind of sucks, but hey you never know. Anyway I think we use so many drugs simply just because we can, they're so readily amiable why not use them, and as for illeagle drugs well I have no problem with pot but I think that shit like heroin is a problem, also we should legalize pot and treat it like alcohol, no driving while on a trip, age limit etc.

100% of the time I will avoid any medication that use anti-biotic measures unless it is a problem so bad I will fold and take the pills, aka never for me.

Try sounding less like a retard. Fix your grammar up, use actual caps, say something more than "discuss". Add some actual information for god sake such as statistics and possible medical company documents. Real serious discussions are for individuals who can atleast do the above which I can assure you even a child could accomplish without much difficulty. Yes the world, America especially, is a drug nation. My friends alone take a drug for fucking everything especially depression. Personally I don't even see how a drug for depression even works because it won't fix the source of the problem making it absolutely freaking worthless. Anyway, If you got even the smallest problem in life then they got a drug for it, then a drug to fix the problems that the drug you are taking causes and so on. It will create a cycle that honestly I believe companies themselves are using in order to create an endless cycle of profit. While it should cost someone maybe 100usd for something it ends up costing them three times as much. Stop taking one then the rest start fucking up your body. As long as you have one problem the pill cycle continues to exist. It really is a tragedy sometimes when you think about it. Once someone has started taking pills I have never once heard of them stopping for as long as they lived.

For the Record I have had a doctor subscribe some pills since I was child but I refuse to take them because I just don't give a fuck.
